Christmas Carols Rehearsals and Costumes
.
Hello Everyone!
Troupe Rehearsals
As the troupe students will be hosting Carols on the Wednesday night, could I please ask for Troupe Students on Monday, 4th of December for a final run through before the big night. 3:00pm- 4:30pm if possible please! NO TROUPE for this Wednesday due to Carols Night.
Carols Night
Our final Troupe performance will be hosting our Carols Night during Week 9, Wednesday 6th December. Troupers have now been given parts for the night. Could you please let me know if your child will not be in attendance.
Carols Start Time
Could we please have students in attendance at Carols Night, no later than 6:15pm for a 6:30pm start. The school ensemble and bands will be playing until 6:55pm. We will be hosting Carols from 7pm.
Costumes
Students have been asked to wear a plain white t-shirt top and their green school bottoms by Liz Campbell (Music Teacher) on the night.
As we are hosting Carols as 'Christmas Elves' on the night, I would like to team their shirt and short combos with some elf ears (DIY's or bought) and some white OR red knee high socks with the kids black shoes from Crown.
Red and White striped socks can be used also, the more 'elfier' the better, I dont mind, plain is fine. Kids can use footy socks or whatever they have around which is suitable.
Red Dot have some Elf Ears as well as Spotlight with more of an 'elf hat' (pictured)
Props
Students have been asked to source some different sized boxes and old Xmas wrap/ribbon for the night. Some boxes will be wrapped by the students previously and others will be wrapped whilst acting on stage.
If anyone has any old Xmas wrap or ribbon they would like to donate, that would be greatly appreciated!
Final Troupe Session
Our final Troupe afternoon will be Week 10, when we host our end of year party (please see below.)
We are on the countdown people!
Thank you for your support in our last performance together as WILD Troupe, 2017!
Kind regards
Anna Stanton

Our time together as WILD Troupe 2017 is sadly coming to an end...
To celebrate such an awesome year together we would love to celebrate with an end of year party. We shall play a few final theatre games and snack on some party food on the final Wednesday of Term 4.
Could you please help us out by supplying a savoury, sweet or drink for the occasion?
Party Details are as follows:
Who: WILD Troupe kids and Miss S (sadly, it's just too squishy in our Drama Room to have more people invited, I do apologise)
When: Wednesday, 13th December
Time: 3:00-4:15pm
Please Bring: Sweet, Savoury or Drink (we will allocate in class), anything warm may be dropped off to the Drama Room after school if you wish.
Allergies: We have nut allergies and gluten intolerance in Troupe this year. Whilst not everything bought in will be suitable for people with coeliac's (gluten intolerance), it would be fab if we would have a few items which are suitable.

Final Crown News
Hi Everyone,
Our Crown performance is nearly here and we are right on track with the extra rehearsals...A BIG thank you to all who have supported the extra times for practice, it has made the world of difference.
Just a couple of notes about Crown.
Bus for Rehearsals- We have only just found out our rehearsal time schedule (they have been very behind in giving us this.) Students will be travelling by bus at 9:50am on Tuesday 22nd and returning by 12:00pm. Im hoping the notes with permission slips will go home by this afternoon. If not, please keep an eye out for them tomorrow. We need those signed and into the office as soon as possible, please.
Travel to Crown on the night- We do not have a bus leaving school to take the students to and from Crown on the night. Please make appropriate arrangements/car pooling to ensure your child is in the foyer at our meeting point (TBA) by 6:30pm at the latest.
Iron on Transfer T-shirts- I have handed out the transfer sheets, instructions and props to be made by the students. If there are any issues with your transfer, please send in your child to collect a new one. I have printed off more copies for any mistakes made, they are in the Drama Room if you need.
Monday Full Dress Rehearsal- 4:30pm ALL STUDENTS MUST BE PRESENT- This coming Monday (21st of Aug) will be our full dress run through before our big night. Could you please ensure your child has their costume, bandana, props and anything else they have been asked to provide on this afternoon (no makeup run through, obviously) some students have already asked if they can have a makeup run through....Ummmmm nope! ha ha! That would be a nightmare unto itself!
Rehearsals Going Forward- The students and I will have a break on the Wednesday after our Crown performance (23rd of August), so NO TROUPE ON WEDS 23rd, I should imagine there will be many tired children the day after our big performance. Rehearsals will continue every Wednesday afternoon thereafter until the normal timeslot of 4:15pm.
Thank you all once again for your patience and flexibility. We are all very excited about our performance and hope to blow you all away with our students talents. We have also been told that Sharon O'Neill (Education Department's Director General) will be watching our concert on the night...No pressure!
If you have not purchased tickets yet you may purchase them through www.ticketmaster.com.au or by phoning them directly.
See you all on the BIG Night!

Crown Costumes
Standard Shirt
Graffiti Vandals |
Hi Everyone,
I have been thinking about Crown Costumes and I would like to keep them as simple as possible (cheap also), yet effective for the stage. I am buying some iron on transfers to print a logo onto a t-shirt which the students will perform in. Tops A plain white t-shirt (short sleeved.) This shirt will have an iron-on transfer image placed onto it (which I will print off for you.) There will be a front image on the shirt. Kmart, Target and Best n Less have shirts for $3-$5, ebay and Op shops etc are another option Graffiti Vandals A denim vest/jacket or leather type jacket. to place over their white shirts if possible. I will have a look in some op-shops for some options. If you have one to borrow from someone, or an oversized adult one that can be rolled up, this will be fine. Bottoms I would like all students to be in their black full length 'stage black' bottoms on the night. Shoes Plain black shoes and socks. These can be sneakers or the cheap sand shoes from Kmart/Target etc. Jazz ballet, or dance shoes (not nude) will be fine. We need to perform in actual shoes with a sole. Crown will not allow for students performing in black socks. Makeup Students will be required to come to their Crown performance (not rehearsal) in some foundation for skin (only if you have some), blush (for colour in cheeks) and mascara (for eyes to be seen) Under the Crown stage lighting, actors will be washed out and facial features harder to detect. We would like to see our beautiful faces on stage! Lipstick may be worn also, but no red or overly dark coloured lips. We would like the actors to be as natural as possible. It is a skate park theme, so no need for 'razzle dazzle' makeup. The kids will be doing enough of that with their dancing and singing on stage, ha ha! |
Extra Rehearsal Dates!
Hi there!
Our Crown Theatre performance is fast approaching, eeeek!! The troupe members have been given their homework for the holidays for dance routines to be learned by the time we get back into it!
I am asking for the majority of students in troupe to be able to attend extra rehearsal days after school on each Monday till our performance from Week 2 of next term. These sessions will run to 4:30pm each session. Week One will remain the same timeslot on the first Weds till 4:15pm.
The dates will be:
Monday 24th July-4:30pm Wednesday 26th July-4:30pm
Monday 31st July-4:30pm Wednesday 2nd August-4:30pm
Monday 7th Aug-4:30pm Wednesday 9th Aug-4:30pm
Monday 14th Aug-4:30pm Wednesday 16th Aug-4:30pm
Monday 21st Aug-4:30pm Tuesday 22nd Aug (Performance DAY)
I understand if there are commitments which are not able to be moved. If students are unable to make the Monday rehearsals or extra time added, I will be opening the Drama Room up during lunchtimes for the students to practice with each other.
Thanks for your cooperation everyone.
I hope you have all purchased tickets to this fabulous event!
Kind Regards
Anna Stanton

W.I.L.D Theatre Troupe Logo HELP!
Hi All,
I was wondering if anyone knew a graphic designer (or just someone that is a bit arty) to possibly design a logo for our W.I.L.D Troupe program. The children were discussing possibly making t-shirts for troupe days. It would also be nice to have an official logo for notes home etc. It would obviously be too late for this year to get it organised, I just thought I would throw it out there.
I was thinking of incorporating our school sun logo to be two suns with theatre faces on them, or something to that effect. Something simple?
If you know anyone that could possibly donate their time, that would be amazing. Please ask them to contact me at the school or on my email.
Thanks for your support everyone :-)
